New Remodeler Configuration - Proper configuration is now available right out of the box and at no extra charge for Remodelers using SoftPlan Version 13. The recent release of Remodeler Configuration as an optional, standard feature eliminates the need for defining complex wall types within SoftPlan Pro and offers a comprehensive remodeling solution in SoftPlan Lite which previously did not have a method of differentiating walls.

Remodeler Configuration comes as a wall/beam type set-up that distinguishes new, existing, and demolition items. The set-up serves the dual purpose of creating quick and simple layouts for remodeling projects within SoftPlan and allows for the completion of accurate material lists. In Version 13 Lite, remodeler wall types are an install option. In Version 13 Pro, a third set of wall definitions is made available: standard, extended, and remodelers.

Beams and walls types are distinguished on the plan as either shaded for new items, hollow for existing items, or dashed for items to be removed. This set-up allows remodelers to address one of their most challenging issues, helping the client to visualize the finished product. Better communication about the design through the configuration can ease frustration for both client and remodeler.

The recent release of Remodeler Configuration is a move on SoftPlan’s part to create a product that better serves the remodeling industry and urban markets. Click here to view a sample floorplan featuring remodeling configuration.

Stellar Golf Show House - SoftPlan is proud to sponsor the recently developed Stellar Golf Show House. The home was created to model design and amenities desirable for county club living and is a result of a national design competition hosted by the American Institute of Building Design. Located on the 13th fairway of Arnold Palmers Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Florida, the home is designed to be a golfer’s dream dwelling.

Over 1500 architects and designers were called on to derive the design. The winning home plans were created by longtime SoftPlan user, morales-keesee design associates and were chosen for best meeting the criteria required of the golf show house while conveying aesthetics, form, scale, and balance. SoftPlan contributed to the project by providing a 3D flyover created within SoftView. The flyover was the work of deGroot Design & Drafting.
