I am trying to create some new symbols for emergency lighting and exit signs but cannot get the shaded (paint solid) areas to carry over from the drawing to the symbol creation.  What am I doing wrong?

Not sure but maybe you need to increase the box size that you use to capture the painted object.

Either that or you will need to explode the paint.

open the attached zip file. I zipped up an electrical symbol for an exit sign that I typically use.

Just put it in your "SoftPan2014 - Electrical - (your subfolder)" where you want the symbol to show up.

You do have to explode the paint separately. I usually do the paint after all the line drawing portions are completed.
