How do I not show a part of "straight" stairway on floor plan.

Stairs have 15 risers with a 9 foot basement. I don't need head room for all 14 treads.

The stairs show 3 treads I don't want showing on floor plan.

Ranch house so I have just the one set of stairs.

Seems simple but I can't figure it out.

Jay,

If you explode the stairs so all that is left is the editable lines you should be able to delete

the lines you do not want showing when printing the pages.

I explode them just like Steve said, but also keep my other stairs on a layer i can turn off before i print so that i can keep them in 3D.

As Kris said, I have a layer called "Hidden" on all my drawings for gable trims and staircases etc. All my 3d model staircases are on the Hidden layer, and all the staircases that show on plan are exploded, that way I can always control what is drawn.

I always draw interior stairs and railings with lines.  I can control them better.

How do you address the staircase on the 3D models?

I'll bet he places his 3d...eg. stairs, railings & landings on a hidden layer like I do.  Make sure to deselect cleanup.

FYI, don't know if anyone noticed but SP2016  cap wall with drywall feature does NOT work on a bottom pitched wall.

Still think that my suggestion would be much easier and resolve these overlays.
