I have always wondered how to fix these issues and was hoping someone could help.

When a window is in a wall that is half brick and half siding, if the top of the brick is above the bottom of the window, and you add trim to the exterior of the window, the exterior trim always cuts the brick to the bottom of the window.

Is there a way to stop the trim at the top of the brick? Instead of the bottom of the window.

Also, you can see in the image the frieze board on the double gable is not in the proper location.  Is there a way to fix this?

Thank you,

Unfortunately, for the opening trims, it's all or nothing. You have to use profiles in elevation or 3D mode which I find to be a pain and don't like it because I save my elevations in line mode. This causes for example that brick trim generated with the opening trim is different then the ones generated with profiles because these are filled with the paints.

For the frieze board, it's hard to say without seeing the plan but is the gable a gable of wall fit to roof?

My exterior trim is rectangular - 1" x 4" - the option would be to show trim only on the top and create the sides with solids.

Thanks Yvon and Keith.  I was hoping I did not have to use solids to achieve the look needed for the window and door trim.  But, it was worth a try.

Yvon, the gable is a gable end provided by roof, with the trace roof command creating a double gable.  I checked the frieze board on both gables and the front gable looks good. The frieze in the gable above the front door does not.

Did you trace the roof as one single roof or 2 separate ones ... ?

if it's one roof, try and do them as separate ones ... If they are separate, change them to a single roof. Delete the front one, and ADD POLYGON EDGE to extend the main roof to the front. It may work better as one or the other.

Keith,

I created the two gables with one trace roof around both gable ends.

I erased that roof, and created two gable s with the trace roof, and it is is working for now and fixed the frieze board issue.
