Either I've not noticed it either or it's new.

It seems to imply that there's a programme called "Softplan Remodel"

It's probably safe to say it's new ...

Would be nice for strictly Kitchen/Bath/Basement remodeler's and interior designers....

I do quite a few quickie bathroom or kitchens all on one floor, I could see people not needing the full program.

On the startup screen is a notice that SoftPlan has become a member of the NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Assoc.)

It certainly appears that we might see a new version of SoftPlan.

That would be a very good marketing opportunity.

Most Kitchen and Bath dealers already use Cad - 2020 is the dominant force there.

But remodelers would definitely have a need for software assistance that is not hugely powerful and expensive.

When I installed v2016 about a week ago I had the option to install SoftPlan Remodel - which I did, because that's mostly my work.  But I'm now wondering if that was such a good idea.  I'd like to know what the differences are.

Can anybody enlighten me on this?

Paul,

You probably only installed the remodel wall definitions.  SP has been asking that when you first install the program since I first bought V13.  It sounds like whats being talked about here is a new program for just remodeling work.

it looks like it is new, its on the Softplan website. It appears to have limitations such as only 1 story

I had this clarified by Tech Support.

The Remodel Version is limited to 1 story only.  Also, "the Remodel program requires an R key to run. It can't be run using a C key."

Or in other words, if you have an R key you can not run the full program.
