Hello all,

Is there a way, to add a faux window to a gable? I have a gable vent in there now, and need the window and vent. its on a front porch, so i cannot extend the wall below up to roof because there is no wall below. is there any way to do this?  thanks in advance!

When you click on "Vent Options", instead of the "Vent" library, you can select a window library and select a window from there.

You have to create the gable as a wall, offset it to eaves level and fit to roof. Then put both openings in it as openings.

You can draw a wall (check hidden if you don't want it to show up on the floor plan) and set your offset so that the bottom of the wall is at the height of your soffit. Then, you can do an extend to roof.

Sometimes it's tough to get the wall to fit to the correct roof.  So, I will put the main roof on a separate building option, turn off it's visibility, then fit the wall to the roof of the dormer.  Turn off cleanup and turn the other roof back on.
