When I use the mirror in the bathroom section I always have trouble with it.  Takes me forever playing around to get it to reflect.  You think that since it's a mirror it should reflect without all this trouble.  But no luck this time so I decided to write for help.  I cannot find the "easy button".

Thanks

Jack

Mirrors don't inherently reflect. A mirror is just a cube - albeit a very thin one - that has it's texture set to reflect. Anything can reflect .... Just increase the reflectivity in the 3D options menu.

Generally, only RENDERED mode includes reflections, but EVERY mode can have reflections turned on on the 3D toolbar, by clicking the Re button.

Here, as you can see the siding is set to have 50% reflectivity.

Keith, thanks for the help.  I just could not figure out how to do it.  Broke my arm and smashed my left shoulder up really good last week so it may have something to do with the pain meds I'm taking.  Fell off a ladder.

Again,

Thanks

also try "reflectivity"  at 100

and

opacity at 100

note: don't have to but try the color "black"

not sure black is necessary but works nice

for a mirror

Randy, that works also.  Thanks a lot.  I think I will print this topic out and save it.  Seems like mirrors always gives  me trouble.

jack,

save the black color and name it 'black mirror"

once you put in the mirror setting to reflect

it holds them for the next time you use that "black mirror" color
