Is there any way to display the 3d rendering onto the actual site plan drawing (instead of grass)? I have a site with unique setback challenges and would like to display the renderings indicating the setback lines on the site. The 2d site plan will be fine, if it's too complicated!!!!!

Thanks for any help you may offer, and have a good day,

TOM

If you draw the setback on the site plan, you can change the texture so that the setback area shows differently from the site texture (I think it may even be different as standard). You can still fit it to ground - although in my experience, fit to ground typically doesn't.

What a great solution Keih, and so simple - just clicked 'on' the display setting for 'Setback' in Materials and changed the color - Perfect!

Thanks for tip and quick reply!!!

Take care,

TOM

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reply, but I'm sorry I don't understand how to overlay the image of my site plan onto the 3d rendering? I'm willing to try, but I can't seem to figure out where to get the image from and how it would fit in the right spot on the 3d site? Oh well, this is probably too advanced for me, HA HA

Thanks again for the reply,

TOM

thomas,

i'm not sure i understand what your after

you ask:

"Is there any way to display the 3d rendering onto the actual site plan drawing (instead of grass)? I have a site with unique setback challenges and would like to display the renderings indicating the setback lines on the site. The 2d site plan will be fine, if it's too complicated!!!!!

randy answer:

the way i understand what your asking is if you can put the image of the site onto your site plan > if this is correct,

you can add an image (jpg, bmp, png) into your softplan / 3d / texture / bmp /site / (an existing folder or create a new folder in site or anyplace

in the texture folder of 3d )  and than / file / import /image onto your SPD drawing.  you can either use / edit / adjust size after importing

or use the / adjust command and adjust each size as needed.

if my assumptions of what your need are incorrect, please correct with what you actually want.
