Hi,

I'm just learning Softplan and feel a little concerned to be posting under my full real name to ask stupid questions. Right now it doesn't matter too much but I can see where later I'll wish my customers couldn't easily search Google and find where I'd been learning the basics “only two years ago” or something. Also, I can see where it would be nice to discuss current projects with other members without customers reading what I'm thinking.

Is there a place on this forum where only members can read? I hope I missed it...

Second and unrelated, is it true that all the old archives are gone? I hope not...

Thanks in advance.

The archives are there but are not searchable. Top left of your screen there are two tabs. one for the forum and one for the archives

Thanks for the replies.

Chris, if you were giving a link, hopefully about a members only section, it looks like it didn't come through.

Looking forward to joining.

I don't think there is a members only place.

You can put a different name I think, that shows on the screen.

Fred,

Thanks for the reply.

One of the site managers told me by email that they are requiring full real names now.  I don't have a big issue with this, even though it's not my security preference to have my name all over the internet.  However, I personally wish there was a members only area where I could ask questions of other pros without worrying about current or future customers seeing it.  e.g..  "Hey guys, I'm way behind on thus and such project, can anyone tell me how to do this thing?"  I would rather not have that searchable from google.

What do other think?

I feel the same about privacy. I don't do a lot of things on line that demand your info, getting harder to find.     Probably doesn't matter.

seems like you signing in as a guest, doesn't show your name?
