Is there a way for the masonry takeoff to include thru the windows and doors in it's calculation?

Haven't touched Softlist in a long time but the formula has to take the wall area less the openings so if you delete the section that removes the openings, that should give you the gross area (which I think is what your looking for?)

Doing manual takeoffs we always assumed that (generally) the window and door area's would cover the wastage.

Hi,

You have the option of choosing the wall area with or without openings. When I calculate vinyl siding I use the "area" variable and for any masonry veneer I use "wall_area_no_open" variable. I then use a percentage factor for waste.

Keep in mind that you can single out garage door areas if you want to exclude them (the large area can throw off estimates). Use the "garage_height" x "garage_width" variables in your wall formulas and subtract the product from the total wall area.
