Hi, I need to create something like this image here as my pergola. Do I have to create my own symbols in order to make this?

No, this is one I did earlier this year. All done with standard Softplan items.
The 2 ply beams are created with a 5½" gap between the plies in the definition. The "secret" is to use a profile on the ends of the beams and joists.
