The long process of posting 2016 enhancements has begun, see http://softplan.com/?page_id=1592 for updates.

Nice to see that handrails can extend past the posts.

Michael,

Where do you see the info about the handrails and posts? All the 2016 links show nothing yet when I check them.

I like that stair stringer width is now an option for individual stairs. And, the handrail extending will be nice.

I also like some of the printing and notes upgrades they've posted so far. It will be nice to have more control over schedules and tables.

Keep posting new and improved features SP!

The cleanup feature automatically regenerating schedules could be helpful, as long as there is a way of removing cleanup from the schedules as well.

Great work so far SoftPlan!!

Looking forward to more!!

Thanks.  The schedules can be included/excluded from cleanup.

Noticed they added a few information stamps. I guess this means that we'll still be unable to program our own? Hope they separated the information stamps for visibility from the other items so we can see on screen what is going to be printed instead of having to turn off all non print items to do so?

With the new  info stamps, it looks like you can now state the number of sheets involved. ie., 7 of 9 !

Building options are now ready for primetime! They added option groups. Also Plan sets can display more than one option at a time. This means we can cut options into partials for master sets.

It's great that we'll be able to have different Building Options for each items because in the past, if you have more than one building option on a plan and they overlapped, you couldn't do it.

new in 2016 - elevations  / sections / shadow & paint stuff

  looks promising:

Elevations | Auto Paint Elevations, Interior Elevations & Cross Sections

Elevations can be automatically painted with textures used on the 3D model. The textures used on the 3D model can also be added to Interior Elevations and Cross Sections.

This one-click process gives your drawings the finished, professional look of colored construction documents and prevents you from taking time to paint individual sections.

Texture opacity can be edited to show more or less of the paint pattern. Changes made to the 3D model can be easily updated on elevation drawings and vice versa.

SoftPlan’s model paint will put your color printer to use producing better looking, easier-to-understand drawings in less time.

Do you suppose the auto-paint can put a 2D paint texture on the elevation? It seems to me it just adds the actual texture used in the model..

Elevation are vector drawings, so I would assume the texture in them would behave like paint. Can't wait to test this one out. This is by far the coolest new 2016 feature to date for me!
