Hi, ..

In Version 13 and 2012 PDF’s were created in Black and White by default. (my preference)

In Version 2014, the PDF’s are created with multiple colors that mimic my screen colors.

I have the ‘Use Screen Colors’ un-toggled (no check in the box)

when I generate a PDF but with no desired B&W result.

I’ve looked around both System and Drawing Options wherever ‘review’ is mentioned

but can find no options for PDF creation that relate to Black and White.

Aside from changing all my pen colors to Black

before going PDF I’ve found no way to get the result I want.

Is there someplace in Softplan I haven’t looked that can give me the result I want?

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Thanks, ..

Doug

Are you using Plan Sets to create the PDF?

Here I is the simple plant set:

And here is a screenshot of the PDF:

You need to set your pens to black.

This is really a hold over from when plotters used actual pens instead of inkjets.

Changing the pen color does not change the screen colors

You would then use screen colors to control how the plan looks in color.

For those of you viewing this topic and looking for the answer I was looking for, .. again, thanks to Chris' suggestion ...

(and I'm assuming my approach was what Chris had in mind, .. regardless, it worked for me)

System Options .. Pen Setup .. Configure Print Pen Styles .. then changed all the pen colors to Black.

When I open an older drawing .. Drawings Options .. Pen Setup .. Configure Print Pen Styles .. Reset to System.

New drawings created under the revised System Options setup do, of course, adopt the new setting.

Now all my PDF's are created in Black and White which is my preference.

You welcome

Dark Greys are handy also for electrical arcs and flooring and other things that you want to not dominate the drawing and make it easier to read.

We have found that even a white pen is handy for things like this:

White Lines, .. just tried one on a Floor Plan,

.. given a thickness and a solid fill they would work great for masking.

(if I ever have a situation where that would be useful, .. can't think of one offhand)

I retract my earlier thought, ..

just ran a plot and the 'white masked area' printed grey.
