Just wondering when it will be available, and how much for the exchange on our current key?

I understand the new micro key is not back compatible, so if you need to open a file in an older version you are out of luck, if you have a need for that.

I'm wondering if it has a little loop on the end like the regular keys do?  I keep mine on my keychain so I never am without it and can't lose it.  I think I'd want to keep my old one if the new one is similar to what comes with a wireless mouse.

Hi Daniel,

You will want to contact sales for details. But I heard or read around $50 dollars plus the cost to ship your key to them and return shipping for the new key. Be prepared to be with out your key while this process happens as I think that you have to ship your key to them first before you get your new key. Also price depends on how many keys you want to upgrade.

I hope this helps information helps you out.

Typically, in the past, upgrading keys has been "send your old key back when you receive your new one". Softplan allow a grace period to receive your old key - I'm not sure the length, but we've never been without a key, and never been billed for an extra one because of it.

I would have to think this would be a wise time to just buy a new key and keep the old one. If the new one only opens 18 then I'm not willing to trade. Willing to buy though.    I'll go check it out.  Thanks

I think the cost for the trade may be $50.00 ish ... a new one would be probably be over $500.00 ...

I think its kinda like ..I'll trade you this big nickle for that little dime. How would you ever be able to go back to your old drawings?

Your old drawings will be fine but you will not be able to open your old versions of SoftPlan.  The new micro keys will open your old drawings but only in SoftPlan 2018.
