HI all

 

Does anyone else have a problem accessing softplan projects that are store on a different computer?

I can access with them with Softplan but it takes for ever!

We are using win10 on both machines and networking files are fast except for softplan?

I have tried to use a map drive for the files located on the main machine but that doesn't help.

Any thoughts?

I had the same issues. It eventually led me to using a synchronization software to mirror copy all files on my computer and network attached storage. Which sped everything up once it was on my computer and is good for backup reasons as well.

You used a piece of software and external hard drive to solve your problem?

We have a file server here and all our drawings are stored on it. I also have our symbols stored on that machine as well.

I have a brand new ASUS ROG laptop and have never had any issues. My boss had an older Toshiba and had all kind of issues.

We bought him a new ASUS ROG laptop and now neither one of us have any issues.

 

I believe it may be the speed at which your machine can process the information. Just a thought.

I think Frank might be correct, .. it's the Data Transfer Rate of your system.

I keep all of my working files and support files on our local server. I have not had any problems but our network is pretty robust and our hardware is constantly being upgraded. It is, however,  a pain in the butt when we have a rare network problem.
