I have found that doing the cleanup on the 2nd floor does not always work by itself to fix the problem.  I have also had to do a cleanup in the 3d view after doing a cleanup on the 2nd floor plan (or whatever floor the roof is on).  Sometimes that does the trick.  When that doesn't work I have had to restart the program.  Sometime after restarting the program the roof will still come in all messed up.  I then do the cleanup on the drawing that has the roof system and also a cleanup on the 3d.  That has never failed yet.

When that does not work.............

At the moment, this is the biggest issue that I'd like to see a patch for ...

Yes....Roof problems are getting very old.  Having to re-do a lot of roofs and continually closing the drawing and re-opening.  Sometimes even closing softplan completely and restarting.

Every morning i turn on SP i hope for an update to be found.

Still dealing with roof issuess in 2018.3.0.  Roof all of a sudden shows osb in lieu of shingles.

Always having to edit edges and redo "auto pitch".

IYes...I just downloaded 2018 only to discover roof issues. My roof is also showing only sheathing on certain roof areas. Hmm....I don't know if I can afford to deal with 2018 not working properly right now.  I may elect to remove the upgrade and stick with 2016 until they get the bugs worked out. Does anyone know if my removing the 2018 upgrade would cause any potential headaches?

You shouldn’t need to remove it. You should still have your 2016. Just make sure you open your plans with 2016

Myron,  sorry to see you're having problems.  Send the files to Tech Support.  They're generally pretty quick on getting things worked out.  Also, if they can recreate the problem it WILL be added to their fix list.  I'm still using V2016 for my production work, during my slow times i mess with V2018 for testing only....soon as i feel brave i'll make the jump.  Unfortunately files are not backwards compatible be wise on when you change over.

Hi Myron. If you have not already done so, please create a ticket with this project and we will take a look.

Myron, close the project and and then re-open.  If that doesnt work completely shut down softplan and restart...then it should be fine.

Has this issue been fixed yet?  We are still having the same issues.  Our issues are with turning off and on the overlay command on the upper floor.  We need to have the "overlay" command separate from the "multiple floor roof" command. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!  What is the solution?

Brendon. Please send us a ticket with the project in question if you have not already done so. We will also need to know what you are experiencing and the steps you are taking to get those results.

Changes were made in 2018.3.1 to address extraction in 3D when a roof was dependent on the multiple floor roof and the Multiple Floor Roof was turned off. If you are still experiencing a similar issue we will need to see your drawings.

Since the latest update ... 2018.4.5 ... I'm once again experiencing issues where the roof covering is missing. Anyone else experiencing this again ... ? Regenerating the roof fixes it without a problem, but I'm constantly having to regenerate roofs ...

Keith,

is this occurring with new projects or only on existing ones?  Please submit a ticket from a project where this is still occurring.

Thanks.

As per my ticket, these cleanup easily, but don't know why they are occurring. This is a fairly recent project ...

Anyone else still experiencing this?

I get this too- I think they're pre 2018 projects. Like Keith said, is quick to clean up-just annoying.

Technical Support's response - "Thank you for the information. I will forward this issue onto our development team for further review. It seems to be related to Multiple Floor Roof." ...

So even if it is only an annoyance to use, they still want to get it fixed.

The project that's causing issues for me has ONLY been done in Softplan 2018.
