Is there any way to center a drawing in the workspace?

Sometimes I import a drawing and it is no where near the workspace boundaries. Trying to work on it is impossible and I have to end up increasing the workspace size to a huge number to just center the drawings. I was curious if there was an easier way that I did not know about that just places the extents of the drawing into the center of the workspace to make it easier to work with?

I always block move everything into the centre visually ...

It would be nice to have a command that centers your drawing to the workspace.  It would also be nice to have a command that increases the size of the workspace to accommodate the size of your drawing (by say 50' over the size of the drawing).

Have you tried zoom world instead of increasing work space size? I don't know of a way to automatically center drawings. I have a drawing of my border made out of shapes on a no print layer that is a faded and locked so its not distracting. This helps me visually move the drawings where I want them on the page.

Like Keith, I usually block move to center, ..

Often I have a very large workspace to start with, .. to allow for inserting other drawings I may use along the way, ..

What I would like to see, is a 'cropping' ability to reduce the workspace, ..

Rather than drawing options, .. workspace, .. enter the workspace size , ..  just crop it on screen.

.. invariably, someone will have a simpler solution.

I start all projects with a special  "master drawing"  which is set up the way I like.

on the master drawing is a "D" size title block that is centered in the workspace.

after I draw the first floor plan, I block move it so it's close to centered in title block

TIP:  block move in ONE direction before you block move in the other direction.

DON'T block move it when it's free wheeling.  reason is your dimensions

will probably end up at very small fractions.

note: a little more to this but you get the idea.
