I like that wing walls or walls that project one end out without another wall to join to now show drywall on the ends, but sometimes it doesn't make sense. It would be nice to be able to turn off that feature when appropriate.

Under what circumstances would that wall end NOT be finished, Mark? I can't think of any reason for a finished wall to have an exposed stud on the end. Although that doesn't mean that there isn't one!

-This feature needs help, drywall capping walls only works on tops of walls that the heights are less then the wall definition and only caps the tops of walls.  It will not cab the bottoms...eg angled bottom stair walls would be a good example.

a radio button for 'DRYWALL CAP TOP/DRYWALL CAP BOTTOM' would make the most sense.

-I've also noticed the drywall conflicts with wall framing if you have wall framing turned on.

-Speaking of drywall, non cased openings now show empty wall cavity instead of wrapped drywall.

A: I don't want it to end cap a wall when I am ending a stud/drywall wall into a brick or concrete wall. I don't want it to end cap a wall when I am aligning a short wall (half or whatever) into a corner of walls that go all the way to the vaulted ceiling. It makes a mess of the corner. I don't want it to end cap a wall when I have the wall end at a post or other architectural feature.

Joe,

I agree. I think we ought to have total control over capping tops and ends of walls within the edit menu.

Mark, I agree, I wouldn't have thought that it would cap those instances. I assumed that the cap would only be on blank ends. Although one day I may actually receive 2016 and be able to see for myself.

Keith,

Normally I would expect it shouldn't end cap in those situations. But, due to the way walls sometimes clean up goofy and unchecking "clean up" doesn't seem to matter, we end up doing things that are not exactly the right way, but the way it works. So, I often have to set my wall ends to not join and then I get the drywall cap! May have to work on wall definitions with different drywall on each side or something to get it to work better.

My issue exactly now with SoftPlan 2016 is that I have a heck of a time trying to get drywall to cap my stub walls. Now my interior elevations look funny anytime i have a dividing stub wall. Going to dry getting creative here now...

how about being able to put "wood" caps on top, right side, left side, bottom if we choose.

that way we wouldn't have to make custom partition walls
