Anyone using a 3D connexion mouse in SP 18?

If so, what are your thoughts?  Good/Bad?  Is it a "must have" or not really needed?

Appreciate your comments.

I have it and absolutely love it.  Makes a huge difference navigating around renderings and elevations to do editing.  I've got the small one that I'm going to shift to my laptop and will be getting the larger for my desktop.  I consider it a great purchase.

I use it also, very handy tool, used it for the past 2 years with V2016 now V2018.  Wish it was faster.

Does the 3d Connexion Spacemouse Pro work with Softplan?  If not what model are you all using?

I'm using the enterprise version because of its versatility in other programs.  For those that are experiencing slow movement, press the ALT key while using the connexion 3D mouse to speed it up.  Also, in the settings software, make sure you have SoftPlan running so that it will affect changes to the settings and associate them with SoftPlan.  In the advanced settings, there are controls for the speed of various axes of movement.  I still have to hit the ALT key when turning though, all other movements are much faster with the controls moved towards the faster side of the scale.

My Evoluent vertical mouse just quit, and I am looking at options before replacing it. I really liked it, but am wondering about the Connexion space mouse. Does anyone have experiance with both?

I have a couple questions about the Connexion mouse.

-Can you replace your mouse completely with the enterprise or Pro model?

-Would I miss the ergonomic benefit of the Evoluent mouse?

-Would the Pro model be great for SoftPlan or would I be happier with the Enterprise model?

Space Navigator is used to control 3d only, i've been using for a few years now and love the thing.  Best to operate it with the opposite side as your normal mouse.  Metal design, very heavy & worth every penny for 3d work.

Thank you for the response Joseph.

I ordered myself another vertical mouse and maybe in the future I will add the space navigator.

What vertical mouse did you get Verlin?  I have the Anker and I love it.  So much better for wrist fatigue and pain from using a regular mouse 8 hours a day

I ordered another Evoluent mouse. I had my previous one for 4 years. The Anker one looks good too, but they only have a right hand model. Being left handed reduces my options. Evoluent makes a chordless one and a model for smaller hands, but only in right hand versions.

I've been using the Evoluent for many years now. Has helped tremendously in wrist comfort and ergonomics.
