I have customized all of my system walls & beams...eliminating all "factory" beams & walls and also any custom beams & walls designed for a particular project.   Much of my work is copying a project folder & customizing the plan for another homeowner.  However, when I copy folders the new project seems to find & re-add every beam & wall ever created from any & all files.  Why does this happen?  How can I avoid this?

Thank you in advance for any help!!!

When you create a new drawing all the of the walls and beams that are used are copied to the drawing level.

These are now identified under "Drawing Options"

If you change the "System Options" it has no effect on drawings already created.

You need to go into "drawing Options" and select "reset to System Options".

Hi Steve...I am aware of this.  The project folder that I copied was created with only the system files in anticipation of all the unwanted walls & beams.  I have also used the "reset to System Options" and it replaces the walls & beams randomly...such as a log wall (haven't ever used a log wall)...even though the original project folder & system options were identical.

I copy files and folders all the time and have never experienced anything like this.

It sounds like you need to get some tech support help.

Let us know what you find please.

Ok...this may have nothing to do with copying a folder.

I started a fresh new project.  And I may have found a culprit.  While using "Copy to SoftPlan Clipboard" I went to an Existing Project & copied a Detail Note & pasted it onto the New Project.  In an effort to re-create my issue I copied just one word.  It merged all of the walls & beams from the Existing Project into the New Project.

What? Why? How?  Prevention?
