I just started my first project using 2018 and find that Softplan is showing temporary Red Dashed "Inference Lines" any time I get near a wall or line.

I'm not sure how it is intended to be used but so far am finding it distracting. How do I turn that off ?

Also I've noticed that when drawing a line I get these temporary little red double headed arrows as I approach the end of the line.   Same issue as

above, I find them distracting.  In fact it seems to me that lines draw differently in 2018.  IN 2016 if I started a line I could click to start the line, let

go of the mouse button, drag the line to where I wanted it then click again to finish the line.   Now I find once I press the the mouse button down to

start the line I can;t let go of the mouse button until I'm finished the line otherwise I just get a little dash of a line which I then have to adjust to length.

This is a different behaviour then 2016.  Is there a way to change it back ?

I find the new projection snap slightly distracting, but that is overcome by its usefulness ...

It would be nice however, if the ability to line up NOTES could be added. It would save a lot of time cleaning up the alignment later.

Keith,

You are probably aware of this already. You can use align to edge to line up notes or are you referring to doing it on the fly with snap?

Yes and yes ... I already use align to edge after inserting all my notes, but doing it on the fly with snap would be really good.

I can't view either of the links above for other discussion on this topic.  I find those red lines extremely annoying and in the way of my work.  Hopefully there is an easy way to get rid of that.

Sam go into System Options > Cursor Options > Projection Snap and uncheck it.

Very good...that helped.  Now...how do you get rid of the temporary red lines that show up when you use commands such as "align to edge"?  I find them extremely distracting

I suspect that you can't ... I think that has been deliberately added to annoy "help" the align command.

I use the F11 key to toggle my snaps on and off.  That way I can have them when I need them or not.  This does affect the guide marks and lines as well

I do the same, F11 ... And it does disable the projection snap, however it DOESN'T stop the Align to Edge guide marks.
