How do you approach drawing  a box bay like this in SP. I suppose one would use walls and floor and offsets? It seems you would need walls for the roof to reference to something. But how does one run the wall through under the bay and have it cover the main floor?

I use a square arch...height the size of your walls and then offset up

If you don't want the dashed lines from the square arch that Sam mentioned, you can always use a blank arch.  The other option would be to use individual walls.

Thanks for your help and the links to those posts. I tried searching "box bay" but the forum doesn't allow you to search on only three letter words. I have always found the search on this forum quite a hindrance to actually finding things. I actually have better luck going to Google to search this forum. Thanks again.
