When I use the wizard to add 3d models to a library everything is fine until I get to the last step (making the 2d version)...it eiher takes as much as 10 minutes and sometimes it just doesn't ever finish at all. Is there a work around to add a simple 2D symbol for complicated symbols that will allow me to finish and use the them?

You can always draw your own 2D representation and use that instead of using the auto-generate.
