Good Afternoon,

I spent some time with a client I do some work with, usually by sharing files remotely. We encountered 3 issues, and I was stumped...

1. I have created some custom blocks for our projects. I can send him drawings and the blocks work fine. What is the best way for me to get the blocks loaded into his system so he can use them on new projects? His skill level is not quite to the point where he can recreate them on his own.

2. Are there pre defined aluminum frame doors and windows like are often used on retail strip stores, or do I need to create the custom openings?

3. Is there a acoustic drop ceiling tile, like often is used in office spaces?  I can not find it in ceilings or under electric.  Can it be edited for 2x2 or 2x4 tiles?

Thanks,

Dave

For the symbols I do a back up and save it to either DropBox or Google drive the he can do a restore and match your computer settings.  If you just want certain ones then just move them individually to Dropbox, etc.

For aluminum & glass store fronts, I've used solids in the past. You could also create it in Sketchup and insert it ias a symbol.

For dropped ceiling tile, edit your ceiling and check "Display Tile".  use the width & length offsets to center your ceiling and the elevation offset to drop it.

Here is a link to a basic store front system.....my background is primarly commerical work and did several high rise office buildings with custom curtainwalls....If I can be of any help with pricing, feel free to drop me a note....FYI: basic storefront non thermally improved pricing for standard heights, standard colors and glazing that is in non custom glass sizes start at $ 42/sf and each door needs to be priced separately as hardware and glazing affect each.....and keep an eye on aluminum prices....also, glazing price is affected by the unit size.....
