Good morning.

I am to begin a plan set for a townhouse with a zero lot line.

The second unit is to be a reverse version with 1" space between each.

What is the best way to copy, reverse, and place, without drawing the second unit.

Thank you.

Doug

Let's assume that the drawing you are working on is the left unit.

Label it left unit.

Place a reference point (circular) at the outside corner on the right side.

Copy by saving the drawing as a new plan labeled right unit.

Reverse the plan so that the common wall is on the left.

Assure the reference point is in the matching location for the left unit.

Use the copy to clipboard command and select the entire right side unit.

Go back to the left side unit drawing.

Use the paste from clipboard command and the right unit will be place immediately adjacent to the left.

Use the move block command and select the right unit and move it over one inch.

Use the keyboard arrow to move the specirfic distance.

Draw a line at 1/2" from your wall (which would sort of be like a property line) and use the mirror function (box around the floor plan excluding the property line and than select 2 points on the property line). You can than erase your property line if you prefer or put on a layer you can turn on or off as needed.

Yes, Mirror is probably the best way.

Mirror is a great tool.

I use it all the time for creating complex symbols or elevation openings.

I generally prefer to keep my drawings separate which is why I did not think of using it in this case.

I wish to thank all that responded.

Mirror worked perfectly.

Have a great week.

I have done the same with the Mirror command. I always yearned for some type of mirror function as a reference so that if I changed something on the original unit it would follow in all the others.

Maybe if you could reverse a plan set view or multi drawing. I've heard of people doing something similar with Autocad xrefs.
