I'm about to take on some work for a builder who has started plans in SP Ver 2018.  He'd like me to take them from his start on to completion.  I use ver 2014.

We will mostly be communicating by email, as we are some distance apart, but could meet initially if that's necessary.

What's the best way for him to get the project to me, and then for me to get the completed project back to him?  What problems can I expect working with plans started in a newer version?

Note that neither of us are computer geniuses, simply old carpenters trying to help one another out.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Paul

This will not be possible. I could be wrong, but if a drawing is started in a newer version than what you have, you will not be able to work on it.

paul,

softplan plans are not backward compatible.

Not what I wanted to hear, but not unexpected.

Thank you both for the quick replies!

Paul
