I notice in 2018 the roof edges are now offset from the fascias and in general are a bit more detailed.  It appears to be showing the sheathing edge, or maybe a shingle edge.  While I think this is a nice look, I find that it is just more lines to clean up and re-draw in some cases.  I have found it takes me more time to clean up my elevations when drawing initially or even more work when revising elevations.   I would prefer to have it show like it used to with just a single line.  is there anyway to change it back to how it was in previous versions.  I tried playing with Material dimensions<roof options<sheathing placement, but I did not find those settings to make any difference.

Brad

What I do now is shut off the shingles or what ever your roof material maybe then generate the Softplan drawing. I show the "plumb cut sheathing at fascia edge" in the roof options menu also.

Good catch Brad & Martin, I leave it alone since my .35 lineweight hides minor things like that.  V2016 did have a clean eave line while generating elevations.  I've also started leaving the 1x3 shadow board there to simulate dripedge.

Martin,

How do you "shut off the shingles" as you put it?  Clicking on the 'blank' space in the dropdown menu just reverts back to the default asphalt shingles.

Also Joseph,

I cant seem to figure out where to turn 'on' the 1x3 shadowboard after selecting it in the Material Dimensions, Roof Options.

Thanks!

I brought this up to them a few months ago and they said they will send it to development.
