SP 2014

i ran into an odd zoom setting i had never before

maybe simple but could not figure out what to do after checking

nearly everything

all plans are centered (drawing, area, framing, etc.) on the working screen by pressing zoom / extent

but entirely strange when i select the electrical plan it moves far out of centre on top or down and right side on the screen,

there are no other symbols or text around the drafting

thanks for helping

-stefan

I ran into a similar situation the other day while trying to add a drawing to a plan sheet. I turned on all the layers and checked all of the drawing modes but couldn't find the object that was causing the zoom out. I started increasing the work space until it was over 1500 feet wide and found an object that I must have copied and entered a large distance without realizing it. I deleted the object, reset my work space and everything worked fine after that.

There is the odd time items that go out of wack and you can'y really see it. I've had sometime to zoom out and use a cut erase or cross erase to cover the area on the side of the drawing that is to wide. Zoom after and it's ok.

Sometimes, it's a profile that you can't see in the floor plan mode but than you'll see that it's missing from your 3D after doing the erasing.

We would need to see the affected spd files. Email will work fine.
