Has this issue been resolved yet?

It is very frustrating having to close and reopen drawings, multiple times I might add, to get walls to reappear and it is very unprofessional (and embarrassing) when making simple adjustments in front of a customer and have this happen.

Thanks

JLB

I agree! I had to replace some PDF files for a meeting and had to reload the drawings several times to make the walls reappear.

try opening up a new blank drawing and put the word

MERGE into the file name.

than leaving this new blank "merge" drawing open

and go to / file /  merge / and locate the bad drawing

and click on it.  your old file will "merge" with the

newly named "MERGE" file drawing and usually

it'll fix the problem on the old file.

this has usually worked in the past when a problem on

a drawing occured.  MOST ANY PROBLEM.

I just had some of the walls disappear on me. I could still edit where the wall is altho I couldn't see it and it would edit the wall.  I shut down the program and restarted and it was corrected.

had just done some 3D viewing inside

i've been having it happen a lot.  I agree would really like to see it fixed, as it never had this issue before.  My solution has been to remove the drawing from the multi drawing and then reinsert it into a multi drawing and the problem seems to be fixed.

I've right clicked select type and cleaned up items- that seems to work.

Is this related or the same issue?  My plan set prints fine.  When I reopen the drawing, some pages have some walls missing, others of the same type still appear.  My fix has been to remove the drawing from the page and reinsert it.  next day when I come back in, it is missing walls again...

Try just moving the plan. I do move then right click to cancel and it redraws it.

This is the problem Keith.  Tech is and has been working on a fix.  It has been a while so I am guessing it is pretty big problem

Yes Keith, this is the issue.  I have also had it happen on multiple pages of a SoftList report.  Numerous tickets have been created, I assume a fix is in the works.

Typically a re-start does the trick.

Tech is aware of the problem.  The word I got is that they think it may have something to do with other opened tabs.  Close any tabs that are open that also have the drawing on them that you are working on.  Then hit Ctrl-R to redraw and all should be good.

I don't know how others work, but switching drawings and tabs to me is an essential way of working. I ALWAYS have ALL RELEVANT drawings in a project open at the same time, and ALL pages of the planset. Closing tabs and then having to re-open them to work is a definite workaround, not a solution.

I got this response when i filed a support ticket. Hopefully this newest version has fixed the problem. I had walls disappearing randomly on me.

We are aware of an issue that can cause the visibility flag to flip on the walls. Going to Options>Visible Items and flipping the walls off, then on, should make them visible again. Development is looking into the issue.

I think you just have to bear with it for a little while until tech can get a patch out.  Ideally we like to have drawing tabs opened up for different looks, etc.  They are working on a fix and I have confidence they will get it out soon.  Just part of the growing pains of an improving system...

New patch just out this morning....Looks like a lot of good stuff included.

What’s New | 2018.4.0
DWF Import – Embedded Images

Changes have been made to ensure that embedded images in DWF files will now import.
The image is drawn degraded in SoftPlan, but will print out at its full resolution.

Interior Elevations – Reverse

When all or part of a drawing is reversed that includes an interior elevation view, the interior elevation view will now update correctly.

Tables/Schedules – Multiple Cell Changes

Changes have been made to ensure that lag time is minimized when a change is made to multiple cells in a table or schedule (e.g., selecting all cells in a table and changing the text font).

REScheck – Raked Wall Area

Changes have been made to ensure that REScheck accurately calculates wall area on walls that are raked.

Stacked Opening Display – Mullions

Changes have been made to ensure that mullions that overlap openings do not draw in plan view.

Temporary Dimensions – On/Off

Disabling the Display Temporary Dimensions function in System Options  Setup Options turns off the faded dimension preview function for all dimension-related commands and edits.

Changing the System Options changes system settings for all new drawings.

Interior Flooring Polygon – Area

Changes have been made to ensure that the Area listed for an interior flooring polygon updates correctly when the size of the flooring polygon is adjusted.

Roof Options – Roof Material Thickness

The ability to set the default Roof Material Thickness for roof shingles has been added.

Program default value for Roof Material Thickness is ⅛”.

Roof Options – Roof Material Overhang

The ability to set the default Roof Material Overhang has been added.

Program default value for Roof Material Overhang is ¾”.

Speed Notes – PDF Export

Changes have been made to ensure that speed notes included with a drawing in one drawing mode (e.g., Floor System mode) do not affect the PDF export of that same drawing in a different drawing mode (e.g., Drawing mode).

DWG Export – Arc and Circle Smoothing

The default minimum smoothing value of arcs and circles during DWG exports has been increased to ensure smoother, better looking circles and arcs in DWG export files.

Offset – Curved Site Line

Changes have been made to ensure that offsetting a curved site line that had its center reversed works correctly and offsets on the side selected.

Wall Redraw

Changes have been made to ensure that walls redraw correctly when a single drawing is placed in a plan set in multiple modes.
