I need more options for stone and brick textures.  Any references you can provide are much appreciated.  SP seems out of date on textures.

allen,

people post every so often with texture / material sites.

many manufacturers have them on their sites.

some will send you a cd full of them

call up the manufacturer your using and ask them.

also try a splash search for "textures"  or "materials"

offhand i can't remember any of them.

many SP users are more organized.

if you can get into the OLD forum,  check that forum out.

Allen, what is it that you are looking for ... i though that Softplan had quite a lot of masonry textures. if you can point us to what you want, then maybe we can come up with a more targeted range of textures.

Have you already been under Manufacturers - SoftPlan+ ?

Let us know which manufacturer you would like to see added and we can follow-up to see if they have tileable textures available.

Keith, re-doing the front of this home but will keep some brick and stone.  I need my renderings to be as close as possible because i am coming up with completely different color scheme.

If you have time to take close-up photos of the existing stone and brick you can make some custom textures.  This is time consuming, but if done properly can look authentic.

I have done this before with an odd grayish pink brick.

I think that Softplan has a brick that is closer than the one you chose.

Try some the C:\SoftPlan-1\3D\Textures\Bitmaps\Exterior Finish\Brick - Burnt Dark Red Brick, Burnt Deep Red Brick or Rich Red brick

If you have an image viewer (e.g. FastStone Image Viewer) and view the images in that, you can get a much better idea of the colours than the almost useless viewer in the surface editor menu. Alternatively if you download the FREE AMP Tile Viewer from ampsoft.net, - it's a really simple program - but you can view seamless textures as a full tiled surface.

I find it much easier to see the textures at a larger scale outside Softplan, and then choose the file I need inside Softplan.

I think however, that finding a seamless texture to match that stone is going to be rather more difficult. Coronado's website (http://www.coronado....ssStoneTextures) has a large selection of Seamless Stone textures, you might look there.

Do take care though, MOST textures offered on manufacturers sites are NOT seamless.

Arriscraft offer a complete set of textures here ... http://www.arriscraf...a32c09f534a.zip some of the seamless images are quite good others not so much, They are FREE though.

Boral or General Shale for brick would be ideal

Who are you talking too Allen? Which textures do you mean?

Allen-Boral does not really have anything.  General Shale has larger images of their brick that I have tried in the past to save as .jpeg and play around with it to get the scale and pixel done (usually more work than it is worth except on certain projects).  Hence why it would be nice to have the companies offer something more usable

... Boral does not really have anything ...

I think you're wrong there Tom ... But only if you're either a Softplan + Subscriber or really prepared to dig ...

Try: Under MANUFACTURER > SOFTPLAN + > BORAL-CULTURED STONE

I stand correct Keith, somewhat.  They have stone for the paint but they have no model textures/images with their colors

Tom,

There is model textures for the Boral stone. It's located in the 3d material selection under  "Manufacturer/SoftPlan+/Boral"
