A couple issues i am having with area(s)

One issue where the first floor area is not displaying the correct amount in the schedule.  Big problem.  Ive examined my drawing to make sure all the correct areas have been designated and that i wasnt identifying any incorrectly.

Another issues, Ares schedules failing to display with a clean-up.  In other words remaining blank.

Anyone else having issues with area schedules?

When i add a new area under "finish options" it is not displaying on the toolbar.

I have no issues with room finish schedules.

Make sure you go into the schedule and regenerate it.  Sometimes, even on live, it does not update without being told to

When i add a new area under "finish options" it is not displaying on the toolbar.

I'm not sure whether adding area's would even be linked to the Toolbar Icons, I suspect not. I would not surprise me at all to find that the ORIGINAL 15 toolbar icons are all that are available.

I have NEVER been able to use a AREA higher than 15 ... maybe I'm doing something wrong, but adding area's ONLY shows in the FINISHING OPTIONS > AREA OPTIONS. I cannot use a higher area, there are no toolbar icons for a higher area, you can't even edit an existing area to be a higher area as NONE the menu's show the higher area's NO MATTER WHAT I TRY.

It might not be just you Allen ... !

The unlimited AREA's that was added to 2018 seems to have just been a sales gimmick, as I've never found a way to use them ...

I also found out the hard way that updates to the schedules do not always update when you select "save all". Softplan may not recognise the alterations you make and skip the page during a "save all" command. Make sure you always save the individual sheet (s) when you update the schedules.

I've noticed that area and opening schedules are coming up blank when opening up a project again. Have to go to each schedule and cleanup.

The first time opening up an old project you may have to edit the schedule to make sure it's live and calculating from all drawing in the model.

I have mine on separate drawing loaded into plan sheets.

Apparently when you are in a project.....you have to add "new areas" to the "project options" category that is under system options. Once you add them there then it shows up right-a-way on the toolbar.

Here is a screenshot of what i sent tech support.

See how the main floor and model totals differ?  The correct FF finished area on this house is 979.  I have thoroughly checked all drawings and i have only used First floor area once.

There is 52 sq ft somehow being added to the FF area.

Second job in a row this has happened on.

This started with 4.0 patch release this week.

Not sure what has been tried but if you take all the drawings out of the model and check the schedule, do you still have 52 sqft listed somewhere? Keep only one drawing at a time in the model and then check the area, it should tell you what drawing has the extra sqft.

on one of my drawings the extra sq ft was in the basement and then i erased all areas and it was still listed.  Its bothersome because every drawing i open now the error occurs.

OPTIONS > VISIBLE ITEMS > DISPLAY EVERYTHING and then do a ZOOM > EXTENT ... that should definitively show you if it's still there somewhere.

As a side note, the other day I went and added a bunch of new deck areas so I have about 20 total.  Today I go to choose to draw the deck area and it draws a basement area.   Somehow even though it's displaying all of the new areas I have created it goes back and draws from the other areas and their order that i used to have.

Only one plan in model stack.  No areas selected.  Where is the 52 sq ft coming from?

I have the same problem. An area of 11.8 sq ft showing in the area schedules but nowhere to be found on the plan.

Try opening a completely new project, and without doing anything, check the area's ... Is it still there?
