i'm going to feel pretty stupid if this is possible but here goes.  When I specify a casement window I have to show handing with a dashed line....is there a button i'm missing for handing?

Not on the plan ... Although you can edit the handing in the plan view, it doesn't show until the elevations.

I've never shown handing on plan ...

You can edit the product name to show RH, LH or FX or something similar. I created a library for one of our biggest window suppliers so the handing is part of the item number. The names I use match the invoice/packing slips for these windows.

I am not sure how common this is as a requirement on permit drawings but I have logged a suggestion to allow the operation to be shown in plan. If anyone has more information on this as a requirement, please be sure to share that information. CO-47818.

I know it's not a requirement here, but it would be a handy idea. It would make it so much easier to correctly hand the windows.

Again not a requirement but it was something that I remember back in school as more of a graphic representation.  I don't use casements very often but I would use the method that Joseph talks about if available.

I had this capability with some older CAD packages I used to run. Would love to see it added to SoftPlan!

I don't show them on the floor plans but could be useful if we had an option for them to print or not. This way, I could have them show up on screen so I can make sure the correct hinging applys but not print.

IMPORTANT! As long as they reverse when you reverse the plans.

I'm currently designing a house and the client requested that all windows be casement so I want to be sure we get the handing correct before ordering windows. To give a simple visual of the handing, I drew lines at each opening, similar to the example shown in the original post in this thread.

So, I would definitely like to see a feature added to show the handing on the floorplan. It's not required on permit drawings in our area, but it would enhance the client experience/interaction.

How about adding a similar feature for horizontal sliders and single/double hung windows? I'm not sure, though, how this would actually work?

Great responses all!  This issue is gaining traction so hopefully SP will move this suggestion forward with this for the next release.
