Good Afternoon!

I have edited some doors from the Manufacturer libraries.  When I change the product code and relocate that door to a different library (one that uses our company name to keep things organized) the door loses all details in 3D view. The elevation still shows up correctly. If I change the product code and it remains in its Manufacturer library, all the details remain as well. Wondering why it does that and if there is a way around that?

I guess it isn't a big deal, but trying to organize our libraries to make work more efficient.

Thanks for the help!

Morgan

Make sure the elevation opening is linked to the 3D symbol.

It may also be that the texture is one of the pasted on textures.

Which manufacturer door are we specifically talking about?

The Jeld-Wen and ThermaTru doors are the ones giving me this problem.

And how do you make sure the elevation is linked to the 3D? I ended up making my own elevation symbols so I can just insert them in when doing an exterior elevation.

Thanks!!

The Jeld-Wen and Therma tru doors are linked to a plain slab in the 3D and the textures are actual textures in the surface editor ...

For example ... Try pasting this texture onto them ...

Thanks Keith, that worked! That is probably the easiest way to get 3D renderings to look close to what I am looking for.

Thanks!

The thing I don't like about those manufacturer libraries are that the openings only look good in renderings with textures showing. I often do monochromatic 3D views and they do not show well.

Editing the surface material worked but didn't save from project to project. What I ended up doing was in 3D mode > options > materials > I edited the texture for the door. Once I got the door to appear the way I need it to  > File > Material File > Save > Default > 3D.spm. That way the door texture (or any texture for that matter) saves from project to project.
