I am currently running an AMD Ryzen 1700x and was wondering how well SoftPlan works on this platform.

Softplan should work excellently on the Ryzen. The 1700x is an 8 core 3.4GHz processor, and there isn't really anything it wouldn't be expected to run.

However, the main CPU isn't really the issue, your GPU will be more critical than the CPU.
