Hi, I am trying to place board & batten in the gable peak and part of the wall below it but I'm stumped on how to get the lines of the board & batten to line up.

I tried editing the top of the wall to "Rake Top" & "Fit to Roof" which worked for the B&B but it also pulled the stone with it.

I'm pretty new to renderings so any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Marcie

There's no way to actually line up separate textures (that's the subject of an entirely different grumble), as they all have a start location that they generate from.

You have to make them a single texture with (as you tried) "FIT TO ROOF". If it also pulled the stone with it, then you will have to go into the wall definition itself and check FIXED on the stonework.

This may create other issues if you have a moved transition in the stonework, but we can cover that later if it occurs.

Thank you! Checking the box "fixed" worked perfectly!

Dear Softplan,

Are there any plans to fix this issue. two storey units in board and batten really look stupid since we can't realign surface textures the way we could with offsetting paint lines.

Agreed. It is a very horrible look when presenting drawings to clients.

That only works on a single storey structure. Trying to do it on a two storey causes more problems than it solves.

To get the proper look on a two story...I draw a second drawing (just for the 3D) where the first floor walls go all the way thru the second floor and erase the second floor walls as needed. It's just an exterior shell to get the 3d to look correct.  It works but it sucks......real time waster.....

Like you Ron I've drawn those walls at 17 ft. and put both story windows in it just to get a good 3D render.  Made a whole different drawing for the model and one for the drawing itself. If you could just offset the texture side to side..

... If you could just offset the texture side to side..

Or even up and down ... The ideal would be to be able to specify the ORIGIN point, or alternately ONLY have a single ORIGIN point for all textures in the model as 0,0,0 ... since the textures are seamless with a single origin, the should ALWAYS line up consistently.
