Against my better judgement I attempted to uninstall 2016 and created all sorts of problems this morning.  But I needed hd space and attempted to clean up a little bit

I started out showing that I have 2 installations of 2016 and one installation of 2018.  Sounds good, so I went to uninstall one of the 2016  programs.  All went well, it went through the uninstall process and finished up nicely.  Now I went to double check 2018 and it now does not run.  It throws up an error message saying the "softplan.exe shortcut has been moved or changed and will no longer work properly.

After messing around with that a bit I thought well I just as well go ahead an uninstall the other installation of 2016 and start fresh.  So I went back through the control panel to start the uninstall process.  When I click the "uninstall" button it directs me back through the "install" process.  and would start a whole new installation.  What!!!!  So I went back into my c:\ with windows explorer and it still shows 3 installations of softplan 2 of them 2016 and one 2018.

Can I simply delete the folders off of the c:\ drive

Whats going on here?

I tried to insert the disk and run the installer and just choose the option to update softplan 2018.  Well when I direct it to the softplan folder that previously was 2018 it tells me that folder does not contain a softplan installation and it cannot update that folder.  When I direct that same method to the other two folders it tells me it is a previous version and cannot update it.  Long story short it seems to me it uninstalls the wrong one when trying to uninstall 2016.  What a mess.... Not happy at all.

Same exact thing happened to me.  Whatever they did to change the installation procedure in 2018 caused this issue.  I ended up having to uninstall everything and reinstall 2018.

So now after reinstalling 2018 and updating to version 2018.3.4 I still can't open any 2018 drawings.  It's telling me that the drawings were created with a newer version and its unable to open.

The current version is 2018.4.1

Go to system options ... CHECK FOR UPDATES

I did that, but it only gives me 3.4.  Maybe I will have to download manually.
