I know this has been an issue with SP Paint, but after spending the last half hour (including a call to tech support) trying to figure out how to draw an irregular piece of rigid insulation and paint the whole item, I am not sure what else to do.  My 3" insulation looks lite it is 1-1/2" wide.  I have tried offsetting the polygon to create a lager polygon, then painting it, then offsetting back to the desired size, and this still does not work!

Any advice on how to hatch/paint items so the entire item APPEARS filled?

Try breaking up the paint area with paint breaks so that you have more regular areas to fill.  Also try to the size down in the vertical and horizontal value percentages.  Also try to offset the pattern and see if that makes a difference.

Try exploding your polygon to lines to see i fthat makes a difference. It may help you paint work better.

If it's just a quick workaround for that particular piece, i'd draw a 3" wide box (or line) textured to suit over it, and forget the paint entirely. If you really need the chamfered top, create it quickly in individual lines.

Certainly quicker than a 1/2 hr phone call ...

Paint is sometimes very particular about where the bounding box edges are ...
