There is suppose to be a full length beam above my columns....any idea why it is being cut off towards the right side?

Did you check "fit to roof" or something?

No...on roof plan all walls are same color.

If i drop it down an 1/8" or more it will re-appear.  But that would be incorrect...all plates are same height on this one.

It's a glitch. I have it happen periodically as well. As far as I know, there is no fix. Sometimes erasing the beams and redrawing them with a zero join tolerance will work.

Very frustrating.

I was told by support that the beam will terminate if there is a roof over another roof.

I was not pleased by the answer as this situation happens quite often.

Hopefully there will be a fix in a future patch.

It appears that the roof to the right is trimming off the beam where it would project through that roof. Please submit a ticket with the project so that we can take a better look and report the issue as necessary.

Thanks.

Happens to me a lot as well.  I submitted it to tech a while back.  I know of no real cure for that happening.

Brent, the heel heights on the roof to right were different than the main roof (not sure why) but once i edited the edges of that roof to match the heel heights of main roof issue went away.   Thanks.

Have you tried a wall definition with only a beam? Wonder if that would work?? That is frustrating.

FYI to all, this is a program glitch.  SP support has been aware for a long time now, hopefully we get a solution in the next update.  Use a solid like a cube to simulate the beam as a band-aid fix until they provide a fix.

i have been having the same issues with that, and haven't found any work around to get it to behave itself.

I just installed the patch 2018.4.3 this morning.  Perhaps they fixed this.  I've only been complaining about it since the release of 2018.

Apparently, that was fixed in the last update ... or at least it says it was in the notes to the patch ...

Yes....all good.  But i feel the overall look/texture of shake can be improved.  Keith's texture are far superior....horizontal siding, board and batton, metal roofting to name a few.

To be clear the beam is NOT fixed and the hijacked shake problem described IS fixed.
