Does anyone have a trick to preparing a single slope roof properly (see attached images).

I am still having to build these types of models in sketchup because I cant get the facia to present properly.  Using vertical pitch on the high side, gables on the sloped sides, and hip on the low side, I and get the roof close to what I want, but the high side facia remains at the same level as the low side facia (as you can see in the second image).

Am I missing a simple solution to this?

Thanks!

not sure exactly what your after

let's clarify what your showing

low side is edited to HIP with a PLUMB fascia and a RAKE soffit (done in fascia/soffit TAB) when editing the low side.

high side is edited to GABLE with a PLUMB fascia and a RAKE soffit

SIDE slope is edited to GABLE with a PLUMB fascia / PLUMB soffit

what exactly are you trying to get it to look like ?

Hi Randolph,

Thanks for the reply.  I have added a screenshot of my current model to my original post to show you the problem I am having.  You can see the fascia drops at the high side, an I cant seem to find any settings to adjust this.  The "Top to Fascia" function seems to only be available to the entire roof, not isolated to a single side

The high detail image represents a similar roof line to what I want to achieve.

what is the "HEIGHT" of your fascia.

edit that gable edge HIGH SIDE (fascia/soffit TAB) and check "fascia depth"

it's should be UNDER 1 foot

you might have it at MANY Feet.

(note: you might of edited it to 12 inches and made 12 feet by mistake

Edit High Side to "gable".

Sounds weird, but this is how Softplan does it.

Yes, a shed roof has ONE HIP (the low side) and THREE GABLES.

curious

where did my answer #2 not help.

i ask because it also mentions the 3 gables.

do i make my answers too complicated when

the answer is actually very simple ?

i can see where that might be the problem.

I think it has to do with how we read things. Our brains will glance thru the major points you're looking for and in this case, at least in my opinion, you would think that you would have a hip at both ends and gables on both sides so you miss the fact that it has 3 gables.

I suppose i just skimmed through your original answer and took the main point as asking for clarification.  Then when I received a flood of helpful answers, I just picked the most direct one to respond to, to assist anyone finding this post with the same question.

Thanks everyone
