I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 10. My desktop is Windows 7 and I have the entire SoftPlan 2014 program saved to dropbox so I could access it from the previous laptop if I was on a site. For some reason I can't access the files from the new laptop. They are all listed however it won't allow me to open them. I can't even view them (read only). Anyone with any thoughts?

Just just to make sure but you did transfer the Softplan key?

Yep.  And I use the same sentinel on the desktop and laptop (take it out of one and put it into the other)  Some of the drawings were Version 14, but never made a difference before.  The newer 2014 opened them.  Now, just on the laptop (new with Windows 10), I get the ".spd files can't be previewed" message with the drawing name and then a download button.  I need to download each drawing, for every project, in order for it to open.  Yikes!

I use Dropbox every day and I have a lot of files on there.

If you have a lot of files on Dropbox they have to sync with your local computer.

This may take some time.   Look at the status bar and click on the dropbox Icon.  It will tell you if you are still syncing.

You may have to keep the computer on for the night and see where it gets you.

Thanks Ronald.  I've uninstalled Dropbox and reinstalled it again.  It's in the process of syncing now, so we'll see what happens when it completes.  The files look like they're going to the sidebar in File Explorer, I guess time will tell....

Thanks for your advice
