Transom Windows

We recently upgraded to 2018 from 2012.    I want to add a transom window or any other window above a window at varying spacing between the windows.   On a brick wall, the brick between the windows disappears and I have to add the brick back in with cubes, very awkward.   Why is this doing this and what can I do to make this stop.

It's because Softplan is trying to create a unit opening for trim purposes.

 

Go to the header tab in the EDIT menu, and check "EXCLUDE FROM UNIT OPENINGS". That will put the exterior finish back.
