Please help!
Ever since about 2 weeks ago, painting on Elevations has become super, super slow......up to 1 minute is some cases.

Tech support checked my graphics card, etc. and everything is the latest, greatest and was working fine before.

Anybody else experiencing this issue?

Thanks
JLB

Hi Jason.

We have not issued any updates to the software in the past two weeks.

I see that you did submit a ticket for us regarding block moving a painted elevation. When tested here we did not experience the lag that you described and gave you a few options to try but did not hear back as to whether that helped or not.

I would suggest trying this on a different system and create another ticket if you are still encountering difficulties with a specific drawing.

Hi Brent-

Restarting Softplan helped in the one instance of the block move issue, but the paint issue is still a severe nuisance.

It is happening on every drawing, but not every time, just most every time.

Calculating Paint Boundary

Correcting Paint Outline

Adjust paint hole shape

and adjust paint hole shape again

The green bar you see in the pics fills the box 2 to 10 times before moving to the next box and so on.......this is an attempt to 'regenerate' roof paint, but it does the same on new paint as well.

A simple paint that used to take mere seconds is now taking upwards to a minute in some cases. It seems it is worse on the " first" paint attempt. After the first attempt and going thru the slow paint mode, it will paint as normal for a few times, then back to the slow paint issue.

The issue is on all drawings and not just one, and not just one paint location. I cannot duplicate the issue on the same drawing at the same location every time. It is sporadic in nature. As you can see, it is so slow, I am able to easily capture pics while it tries to paint.

Thanks for the update Jason.

How does it behave on a different system?

Please create a ticket for this project and we will take a look.

Jason-Are you painting an elevation with a lot of building options?  That is the only time that I experience a paint problem.  I think it is trying to define the boundaries.

Bill over at SoftPlan Tuts seems to think it's caused by the Windows 10 " Creators update". That's about the time my paint started going real slow too. Jason by any chance did your computer run that update recently?

Philip-

I am not sure exactly the name of of the update, but it did start happening after a recent update if I remember correctly. Every drawing is slow to some degree. Some are not so bad, while others are painfully slow.

Thanks Philip. I was wondering if I was the only one. Hopefully they will release a patch soon with a fix.

Hatching otherwise know as "Paint" is now back to screaming fast.  I believe 2018.4.5 fixed the bug.

Is anyone else still experiencing "slow paint"?  I was getting ready to make a topic and then found this one.

Try rebooting your system and see if the speed is restored.

I have noticed in past several weeks, since a Windows 10 update, that my computer really starts to slow down later in the day. Everything is slow, mail, excel, edge, chrome and SoftPlan. Rebooting has minimal effect, a shut down works much better.

Yeah, i think your right Don.  Windows 10 update has interfered with SP.  NOT COOL.    Ive also noticed their is a slight very irritable lag when hit "d" for dimension and then using cursor to snap directions.

Try updating your windows 10 OS.

Windows 10 OS build 16299.192 appears to have been the cause of slow-downs across multiple applications.

As far as we are aware, the slowdown has been fixed in Windows OS build 16299.214 and newer.

The new update seems to have worked. It was getting unbearable.

Yeah!! I updated to the latest build of Win 10 and the paint is back to normal. That's a welcome relief.
