Im considering getting a projector to connect to my laptop for offsite meetings/walk-throughs.  Is anyone currently using a projector to display softplan.?  Looking for suggestions on manufacturer, specifications, etc.  Thanks.

I use an older Epson projector. It works well for showing drawings and renderings in a meeting. More often than not I actually show saved PDFs of the drawings and use my iPad to navigate, rather than connecting my computer. Sometimes there is a need to open the actual drawings and make changes or check the model while meeting, but I try to limit that as it seems to make folks think it is super easy to make changes and draw (the old Staples easy button syndrome).

"Why don't you use the same software they use on 'This Old House'?  They just push a button and all the changes are automatically made"

I must have heard that 50 times.

I did try one earlier this year but I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the images etc. I had to zoom in to get clear lines . I mite have had the settings wrong, it was the first time I had used one?? What i used was an Epson Powerlite 1222 XGA.

It isn't as good as a monitor, but it works well enough for a meeting in my experience. The only annoyance I've found is that sometimes the refresh rate is lagging. But, whenever using it the people in the meeting have been able to see and review the drawings to their satisfaction and I am able to take notes or draw (mark-up) right on the screen if I use an app on my Ipad. That is a nice feature when using that setup. I am sure if someone wanted to use ReView or another application it would work too.
