Has anyone noticed that when you put a beam in a wall it displays a beam pocket (perfect) but then SP (once you do a cleanup) shortens it and the beam pocket (basically) disappears (not good)?  This is unfortunate.

So in other words.

1.  Draw the beam, set correct left and right projections.  Perfect.  (see pic on left)

2.  Do a cleanup, and it shortens the beam.  (see pic on right

3.  Edit the beam and then SP changes it to how it was suppose to be. (see pic on left)

Any work-a-rounds?

Hi Allen.

I'm having difficulty reading the images. Any information on the wall type and beam type used would help to replicate the scenario here. Better yet, if you can send a ticket I will take a look at your drawing.

The default beam pocket depth is equal to the width of the beam and it is measured from the inside of the wall that it connects with.

I suspect that you have a framed wall inside of the concrete wall and you need to account for that wall's full thickness when assigning the end projections to the beam.

Thanks

If you specify the end properties turn off the "cleanup"

Thanks Allen.

The issue has been reported on CO-48410. Turning off the clean-up will maintain the designated pocket.
