I think I have an idea that this isn't possible, so maybe it should be a feature request, but- Is there a way to update existing speed notes in the library- without having to delete and replace the old one? I guess this could apply to symbols as well.

Not possible for notes and symbols but has been suggested before. Would be good if you sent a suggestion also because chances are that it will become reality only if requested by many.

Yes, please send in a suggestion. This is a big time waster and very inefficient. We should be able to edit or modify an existing whatever and save it over the old version of it!

I've been asking for this for notes and symbols for at least 10 years and haven't seen any change.

I'm in for a request for this change.  I always have to go to the rename... do a copy of the name... Then delete the symbol... Then create a new one and re-paste the name in there so the spelling is the same.

One button to update the symbol could fix everything and require less steps.

All it needs is "NAME already exists. OVERWRITE?" Enter to overwrite, Esc to cancel." Exactly the same way that Window$ works, and has worked for many years.
