Is there a way to trim or extend multiple objects at once?

Like select the cutting line, then trim all the tines extending past at once?

I think we would have to be able to cross selects objects for this to work- basically the way cross erase works.

We can extend multiple objects, but if you can't easily draw a box around to select them all, you still have to select each item one by one.

Yes, you can select multiple objects using CTRL and use boxes to select/deselect multiple objects at one time, and then use individual clicks to select/deselect as well.

You can't trim multiple objects.  You can extend multiple objects at a time using CTRL+selecting individual items or draw a box around them.  I like the idea of a "Cross-Select".

Block Cut works for some circumstances.. as long as you need to trim, rather than extend..

..This would be the sequence in AutoCAD, (using cross- select) (not currently available in SoftPlan for THIS function) .. it would be a useful addition to SoftPlan

.. invariably, someone will have a simpler solution.

You don't need to trim ... as far as I can ascertain, extend works to trim as well ... If you have a line to extend to, it can be anywhere (even over the object, and extend to that line will extend objects that fall short of it, and trim objects that cross it as long as you always click on the side where you want to keep the object. So extend works both ways.

I don't think I EVER actually use TRIM.

When extending multiple lines to a line that crosses over- as Douglas shows them-  how are you supposed to control which way they extend?

Click on the side you want to keep.

With a cutting line crossing over, I don't see where you have that choice with multiple objects.

If you control select the group of lines, hit the extend command, the only next option is to select your cutting line.

From what I can tell, Softplan chooses what side to extend based on the cutting lines relation to the objects center.
