Is this an override or something to force the Text to the Center rather than just shooting left, or right?

 

I assume it’s because SP "sees" an object in the vicinity and SP just loses its mind.

You can turn off 'automatically move dimensions' in the dimension defaults.

I know ! I dont want to move it or even worry about it. Id rather it just stay centered.

The big problem with this feature, which should be so useful, is that it moves dimensions so that it doesn't interfere with another dimension (most of the time) but will continuously move it in the way of anything else. Dimensions thru walls are especially bad because it offsets the dimension in one specific location only no matter whats in the way.
