How come there are times when I can not pick an item to move, no matter what I try, but I can easily click on it to erase it?

And how come I can draw a line that I can pick to move but can not pick it to erase it?  and have to use "undo" to get ride of the line.

It depends on what it's trying to find ... be careful with ERASE especially, you can easily erase a polygon without realizing it.

Make sure you are in the right MODE.

If you really want to find a specific item use CTRL-L (locate). For example ITEM ERASE ... CTRL-L (SELECT SHAPES) will only find and erase shapes. It is ONLY active until you change the command, then it has to be reactivated to use it again.

Instead of clicking on the move tool first.. go in to the area your going to work in and right click..identify your object on the floor plan then pick the action you want to take.   Same amount of mouse clicks, but works perfect every time. Hard to get use to.
