I have an AMD Firepro that crashes using Softplan. What video cards does anybody recommend for $200-300? I'm using Windows pro 7 64 bit.

I have a NVIDIA GTX1050 at work and a AMD RADEON RX560 at home ... Both work well.

From the Softplan Website:

Exclusions: Workstation class graphics cards, such as the NVIDIA Quadro® series and the AMD FirePro™ series, are generally not recommended as they tend to deliver poor performance when used with SoftPlan, which is designed to take advantage of features provided by so called ‘gaming’ cards, features which most workstation cards lack.

.. invariably, someone will have a simpler solution.

I also went through several cards with absolutely no help from Softplan in what one I actually should buy. The best advice I can give you is build a gaming rig. Do not build as a workstation and do not buy any hardware on a workstation platform. I had to build a new pc and buy a new laptop because Softplan 2018 refused to work on my old build an old laptop. My laptop is an Asus ROG because it is built for gaming and my pc is built on the same platform. The card I settled on currently is GeForce GTX 1070. Do your best to get at least a 4gig memory or better card and go with 16 gigs memory on the pc as a minimum as well; you will not be disappointed. I am currently designing a new build so I can utilize the new M.2 drives as my Asus Sabertooth board is pre M.2 tech.
