I have a project with a buffet I designed that i would like to copy to another project.  How do I copy objects or groups of objects between projects.  When I am in my drawing I have no copy to windows option an I don't know if that would work if I did.

Use copy to softplan clipboard.  Then you can past from clipboard.  You will probably want to pick point instead of hold point but play with it

If you designed a buffet, wouldn't you have saved it as a symbol ... if not why not? Once it's a symbol you can easily use it unlimited times ... even within the same project.

I am having a similar problem not being able to copy between projects.

I get the screenshot message.

Is there a way to tell softplan where to put copied filed so it can find them?

My desktop has a SSD main drive for operating system and programs only.

All my job files and everything else is on a separate "D" drive.

You could always open the whole drawing from another project and save it explicitly into the new project. I do it all the time with a generic site plan and generic details.

You can also insert any Softplan drawing into your current drawing.

You can use the Softplan clipboard and the windows clipboard independently too, but do that from the dropdown menu.

Tim, dont do a windows copy to clipboard, use copy to softplan clipboard.

I use ctrl-pick then once its highlighted then pick "copy to softplan clipboard"

Open your other drawing then "paste from softplan clipboard/pick position"

(see the image of the stool I copied below)
